When Do I Need This?

If your website connects to a third-party API that requires IP whitelisting (like a payment gateway, domain registrar, or external service), you need to know which IP address our server uses for outbound connections.

Which IP Should I Whitelist?

Always use 77.74.194.114 when a third-party service asks you to whitelist an IP for API access. This is the IP that outbound HTTP requests from your hosting account use.

The server’s inbound IP (94.136.40.116) is different from the outbound IP — this is normal for shared hosting environments.

How to Test

You can verify the outbound IP from your hosting account by creating a simple PHP file:

Upload it to your site and visit it in your browser — it should show 77.74.194.114.

Important Note

The outbound IP is shared infrastructure and could change if the hosting provider makes infrastructure updates. If your API connections suddenly stop working, re-check the outbound IP using the method above.

Before You Transfer

Transferring a domain to Gravity Host is straightforward. Here’s what you need to do before starting:

1. Point Your Nameservers to Gravity Host

Do this before starting the transfer. Log in to your current registrar and change your nameservers to:

• ns1.gravityhost.co.uk
• ns2.gravityhost.co.uk

This ensures your website and email continue working seamlessly once the transfer completes. If you already have a hosting account with us, your site will be live as soon as DNS propagates (usually a few hours).

2. Set Up Your Website and Email First

If you’re also moving your hosting to us, we recommend:

• Creating your hosting account and uploading your website files
• Setting up your email accounts in cPanel
• Testing everything works with the new nameservers

Once confirmed working, then start the domain transfer. This way there’s zero downtime.

3. Unlock Your Domain

Log in to your current registrar and turn off the transfer lock (also called registrar lock). This is usually in your domain settings or security section.

4. Get Your EPP / Auth Code

Request the authorisation code (EPP code) from your current registrar. This is a unique code that proves you own the domain and authorise the transfer. Most registrars show this in your domain settings, or you can request it via their support.

Starting the Transfer

1. Go to Transfer a Domain
2. Enter your domain name
3. Enter the EPP/auth code
4. Click “Start Transfer”

The transfer will be submitted to your current registrar for approval.

What Happens During the Transfer

• Your website and email stay live throughout (as long as nameservers are pointed to us)
• Your current registrar may send a confirmation email — approve it to speed things up
• 1 year is added to your domain expiry date
• You’ll receive an email from us when the transfer completes

You can save your payment details securely with Stripe so that future invoices are paid automatically. Most invoices are for your domain renewals and web hosting, but this applies to any invoices on your account.

Step 1: Sign In

Go to gravityhost.co.uk/account and sign in with your email and password.

Step 2: Go to Billing

Click Billing in the sidebar menu. You'll see your invoices, payment status, and automatic payment settings.

Step 3: Pay an Invoice with Your Card

Click Pay Now next to any unpaid invoice, or click Pay All at the top to pay everything at once. You'll be taken to Stripe's secure checkout page to enter your card details.

Your card details are never stored on our servers — they're encrypted and stored securely by Stripe.

Step 4: Automatic Payments

On the Billing page, look for the Automatic Payments section. Once you've paid with a card, auto-pay activates and your card will be charged automatically when future invoices are generated.

You can disable auto-pay at any time from this section.

Changing Your Card

To switch to a different card, click Update Card in the Automatic Payments section. This opens Stripe's secure page where you can enter new card details.

What Gets Charged Automatically?

• Domain renewal invoices
• Web hosting renewal invoices
• Any other invoices generated on your account

You'll always receive an email before any charge, so there are no surprises.

Why Force SSL?

All Gravity Host accounts include free SSL certificates via Let's Encrypt. However, visitors might still access your site via http://. Forcing SSL ensures every visitor gets the secure https:// version automatically.

Method 1: .htaccess (Recommended)

Add these lines to the top of your .htaccess file in your site's root directory:

You can edit .htaccess via cPanel's File Manager or by clicking Files on your dashboard.

Method 2: WordPress

If you use WordPress, go to Settings > General and ensure both the WordPress Address and Site Address start with https://.

How to Verify

After making the change, visit your site using http://yourdomain.com — it should automatically redirect to https://. You should see a padlock icon in your browser's address bar.
